A Memorable Meet
During mid-September, Rohan Thakare went on a trip to the UK to attend Moodle Moot. It gave him an excellent opportunity to network with people in the Moodle ecosystem. (We’ll cover more about this trip in our upcoming edition)
During his visit to the UK, he also happened to meet one of our clients (from the Services team), Jeanne from Lionheart Foundation. Lionheart is a small team that manages an NGO. This meeting helped Rohan understand that clients view us as more than just service providers. It’s our support that helps them grow. Surely, this experience has opened up our minds to the possibilities we can offer potential clients. And, we look forward to more such meetings or e-meetings in the future.
PS:- The Services team was kind enough to send the client a gift to add to her collection of plants. She really valued the fact that the team knew her likes. Here’s a pic of the gift below! 🪴👇

The Annual Recruitment Drive
Every year, around August-September, we go out to colleges to interview and recruit our new batch of freshers. Having done this over the years, we know by now which colleges can help us get the kind of people we need – future MAKERS. Those with drive and resourcefulness. Those who take initiative and get work done.
The goal is to get the best candidate in about two weeks time. However, the preparation begins much in advance. And it takes the collaboration and effort to run a successful drive. Here’s a pic of the team:

An extended weekend:
During the same week, some members of the Services met up to celebrate the successful completion of a large-scale project – congratulations to the entire team for their amazing work and dedication.

"Learn to enjoy the process.” — Interview with a Serial Customer Hero!
Humble, sincere, dedicated, that’s how we would describe today’s interviewee, Paresh Shinde from the Wisdm Services team. Paresh has been working with WisdmLabs for over 5 years now and has been a rock of reliability in his team. His journey at WisdmLabs has been filled with many experiences and today, he’s going to share some of them and quite of lot of his learnings with us. Let’s have a read.
You joined Wisdm as an intern and now, you’ve progressed to being a Senior Software Engineer. What’s your journey and evolution been like?
I started at Wisdm fresh out of college, full of curiosity but with a lot to learn. I began with small tasks—fixing bugs, working on enhancements, and slowly gained confidence as I picked up new skills. Bit by bit, I started handling bigger projects, taking ownership, and eventually mentoring juniors and working directly with clients.
Being trusted with responsibilities made a huge difference. Contributing to open-source and to core WordPress early on gave me a solid foundation and helped me grow. Looking back, it’s not just that my job title changed—it’s been about personal growth, learning to communicate, lead, and solve tough problems as part of a great team.
What have been your biggest learnings so far at Wisdm? How have you grown as a developer?
My time at Wisdm has taught me the real value of perseverance and adaptability. Early on, I learned that technical expertise is just one part of being a great engineer—communication, openness to feedback, and an eagerness to learn from others are just as important. As I’ve progressed, I’ve become adept at architecting complex solutions, debugging with patience, and balancing technical depth with clarity when mentoring others.
Recognition through SOTQ and customer success awards has strengthened my confidence while also reminding me of the responsibility to help others grow.
What do you think separates a good developer from a great one?
While technical knowledge is fundamental, what separates a great developer is the mindset. A great developer is curious, proactive, and deeply empathetic—to users, clients, and teammates. They go beyond requirements, anticipate challenges, and seek elegant, future-proof solutions. Great developers learn from failures and are always eager to help others succeed.
What is the most unique thing that you like about being in the software field? And, when it comes to your job, in particular, what are some of the biggest rewards of your position?
The most unique aspect of working in software is the constant opportunity to solve evolving problems—each day genuinely feels different. There’s a great sense of satisfaction in transforming an idea into a solution that actually makes someone’s life easier. In my current role, the biggest rewards are seeing my code shape real products, enabling clients to achieve their goals, and sharing these journeys with an ambitious and passionate team.
Let’s talk about something fun. What do you usually do in your free time? What are your passions, hobbies, and interests?
What I do in my free time, and what I’m passionate about
- Movies & Series Buff: I love unwinding by watching movies and web series. Whether it’s a new release or a classic, I enjoy getting lost in a good story.
- Sports Enthusiast: Sports have always been a big part of how I relax. I regularly watch and play cricket and football with friends, and I like to watch Formula 1.
- History Explorer: Every so often, I’ll dive into a history book or documentary. Learning about the past and discovering new perspectives truly excites me.
- Adventure & Travel: I’m passionate about exploring historical sites, mountain landscapes, and beautiful beaches. For me, every new place has a story to tell, and I love soaking in those experiences.
- Food Lover: I’m a huge foodie! I enjoy trying different types of Indian cuisine and love discovering authentic, unique flavors.
What’s the one piece of advice you’d give yourself when you just joined Wisdm?
I would tell myself: “Don’t rush. Learn to enjoy the process.”
Early on, I often stressed over perfection and quick wins. But over time, I’ve realized that long-term growth comes from consistency, collaboration, and curiosity.
Also — always ask questions. Never hesitate to reach out when you’re stuck. The faster you clear doubts, the faster you grow.
Who are your role models? How have they influenced your personal and professional lives?
I’ve drawn inspiration from multiple role models, each representing a different facet of excellence — from leadership and strategy to discipline and performance under pressure.
- Lord Krishna – for balanced wisdom and calm in chaos
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj – for visionary leadership and ethical strategy
- Michael Schumacher – for laser focus and technical precision
- Cristiano Ronaldo – for relentless discipline and self-belief
Each of these role models teaches a different life lesson — Krishna teaches balance, Shivaji Maharaj teaches vision, Schumacher teaches mastery, and Ronaldo teaches resilience. I try to combine these qualities in my work and personal growth journey.
If you were given an opportunity to work as part of any other team at Wisdm which team would you pick? And why?
If I could join any other team, I’d love to spend some time with the UI/UX design group. Understanding how end-users perceive and interact with products fascinates me, and I believe this perspective would make me a more well-rounded engineer and innovator.
What 3 golden rules would you share with freshers working remotely?
- Communicate proactively: Over-communicate rather than under-communicate. Let your team know what you’re working on, ask for help, and share updates regularly.
- Create a dedicated workspace: Having a specific spot for work helps your mind stay focused and signals to others that you’re “at work,” even from home.
- Protect your work-life balance: Set clear boundaries for work hours, and don’t forget to step away to recharge.
Rapid Fire Questions
- Your favorite quote: “कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।” “You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work.” (Bhagavad Gita)”

- Your preferred way to learn new tech skills – reading, videos, or hands-on?: Hands-on—nothing beats learning by building and breaking things.
